concise reference and guide. The Glossarium contains most of the Latin words and phrases generally used in legal textbooks and law

reports. Lawyers, students and paralegals should therefore find it very useful. It should further be a useful source for law students and practitioners who wish to understand Latin without actually knowing the language.

Author Biography

Theo Bosman Rood, University of South Africa

Dr Theo Bosman Rood retired as an attorney and notary in 2001 at the age of 80. He served as chairman and director of many companies and charitable institutions. His most significant contribution was to the University of South Africa (Unisa), where he served on the Council for 36 years. On retirement, he became Chairman of the Council of Unisa, Chairman of the Unisa Graduate School of Business Leadership, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Unisa Foundation. In 1988, Unisa awarded him an honorary Doctorate in Business Leadership (honoris causa), recognising his achievements as an entrepreneur, community leader, and dedicated Unisa man.

White capital letters GLOSSARIUM against a medieval-style full-colour Keltic-style frame with yellow inner section, on which the subtitle is placed in maroon upper-and lowercase lettering, and the author's name is placed in capital letters, navy, at the bottom of the frame. The frame is placed against a plain burgundy background.
