Synopsis

ISBN: 0 86981 727 2

This publication is intended to provide in book form some of the most important documents and sources of South African church history, from the early beginnings up to the modern period. The eventual aim is to sketch a clearer picture of the establishment and expansion of Christianity at the southern tip of Africa.

The value of a document and source book like this lies in the ready availability of church historical 'witnesses'. It is especially useful for teaching some of the basic skills of a church historian, that is to get acquainted with, to handle and to interpret some of the basic sources.
